Ruth is a Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar with a combined PhD and Master of Clinical Psychology from Western Sydney University.
Ruth has a long and varied career in Allied Health working in hospital, vocational rehabilitation and other settings. Ruth’s approach is caring, compassionate and collaborative. She is passionate about creating a supportive and safe environment for clients – especially for those who may feel marginalised by their circumstances.
Ruth works with adolescents and adults experiencing Adjustment difficulties, anxiety, attachment and parenting difficulties, depression, perinatal concerns, psycho-oncology, stress and study stress
Ruth also works as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development at Western Sydney University. She is interested in research and clinical practice across the lifespan.
Ruth uses the following therapeutic approaches in her work with clients:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
- Narrative Therapy
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
- Skills training (problem-solving skills, assertiveness skills etc)
- Mindfulness based strategies
