Thao (Thi Huong Thao) Nguyen
Thao is a Provisional Psychologist in her final year of a Master’s of Clinical Psychology degree. She has training in a number of therapy approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her approach is tailored to each client based on their individual needs and goals for therapy. She provides a warm and supportive environment for her clients to explore their experiences, increase self-awareness and identify effective approaches for handling life challenges.
Thao has worked with adolescents and adults with a range of issues including, emotional difficulties, trauma, self-identity/self-esteem, and interpersonal and relationship difficulties. In addition to her clinical experience, she has over 10 years of experience supporting people with complex needs (e.g. homelessness, family violence and child protection) in the community services sector.
Thao offers therapy to individuals across the lifespan, ranging from young children to older adults. She has an interest in assisting individuals to create more happiness and joy in their lives, through early identification and treatment of mental health difficulties.
