Thao holds a Master of Clinical Psychology with experience working in private practice and community organisation. She has training in a number of evidence-based psychological approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
Thao works collaboratively with her clients to tailor their treatment plans, based on their individual needs and goals for therapy. She has worked with a range of concerns, including anxiety disorders (incl. generalise anxiety, social anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder), depression, neurodivergence, parenting stress, recovering from childhood trauma/abuse, and work, life and study-related stress.
In addition to her clinical experience, Thao has worked extensively in case management roles, supporting individuals and families with complex needs, including homelessness, domestic violence and child protection concerns. She has an interest in child and adolescent mental health and is passionate about providing early interventions to help children and adolescents live meaningful and fulfilling lives.
